John R. Barron,76, of Emmett, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Mercy Hospital following a short illness.
He was born January 10, 1935 in Charlotte, NC.
He married Ruth A. Hanson on December 31, 1965 in Royal Oak, Michigan.
John graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio and served in the United States Air Force for seven years. He was a member of the Henry Ford Museum, Goodells Farm Museum and was an avid collector of steam and gas engines.
He is survived by his wife Ruth A. Barron of Emmett; daughter, Laurel L. Shrontz of Beaumont, TX; son, John R.R. Barron of Emmett; son, Dale B. Barron of Emmett; grandchildren, Rachael, Cara and Allicia; 2 great-grandchildren and sister, Gail Barron of Hickory, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents Branson and Elizabeth Barron; brother, Branson B. Barron, Jr.; son-in-law, Carl Shrontz, MD and step-daughter, Lori Haddad.
Cremation arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. No services or visitation will be scheduled.
Memorials may be given to the Henry Ford Museum or the Michigan Chapter of the American Heart Association.
