William E. Purcell

William E. Purcell, 82, died Monday, July 25, 2011 in Port Huron Hospital. He was born February 21, 1929 in Carsonville, MI.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked as a manufacturers representative for the Lorillard Corporation, retiring after 35 years of employment.
He is survived by Mary Purcell; his children, Susan (Philip) Berger, Bernie (Marcia) Purcell, Barry (Diana) Purcell, Robert Purcell, Patrick Purcell and Sandi (James) Turpin; 10 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; special friend, Rose Barnes and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, William J. Purcell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting will be 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Newsboys.
