Jason A. Bowman
Jason Avery “Michael” Bowman, 39, of Kimball, went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 10, 2020 after he lost his battle with mental illness.
He was born July 31, 1981 in Port Huron to George and Deborah Bowman.
Jason was a long-time resident of Kimball. He was a 2000 graduate of Port Huron High School and then went on to take college classes to become a journeyman electrician. He loved hunting, fishing and working in the great outdoors. He always had a project going and was the life of the party.
On August 11, 2007, Jason married Jenna Meilstrup. They built their dream home in Memphis, MI where they started their family. On April 29, 2013 Jason suffered a TBI which began his 7-year journey with mental illness.
He is survived by his two sons, Avery Michael and Mason Austin; his parents, George and Deborah “Debbie” Bowman; sisters, Tammy (Rodney) Kivel, Kimberly “Kim” (Howie) Ferns; niece, Brookelynn Nicole Fleming; nephews, Rodney Kivel Jr., Bryce Kivel, Connor Ferns and Carter Ferns; grandfather, Clayton “Tom” Brown; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends, including George and Vanessa Adams and their children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cornelius “Corky” and Marian Rynties, George Bowman Sr., Valerie Brown and Ron and Barb Pennell; and close childhood friend, John Pennell Jr.
A celebration of his life will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Goodells County Park in the East Barn 3. A short service will be held at 4:30 p.m.
George and Debbie will be opening a college fund for Jason’s children. Memorial contributions may be made to aid in supporting Avery and Mason in their future endeavors.
