Robert A. Carolan

Robert A. Carolan, age 86, died October 5, 2011 in Rose City following a long illness.
He was born February 3, 1925 in Gagetown, Michigan and had lived in Marysville most of his life.
He married Audrey H. Lesperance June 19, 1948, in Essexville, Michigan. She preceded him in death on August 2, 1991.
Robert owned and operated Carolan's Wholesale Meats and served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He was a life member of Marysville American Legion Post #449 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three daughters, Julie (David) Christofferson of Port Huron, Bobbie (Robert) Yuvan of Rochester Hills and Joan (James) Smith of Lexington; four sons, Paul (Sue) Carolan of Port Huron, Daniel (Jean) Carolan of Port Huron, Joseph (Vicki) Carolan of Goodells, and Mark Carolan of Old Hickory, TN; 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and dearest friend Marie Miller of Lupton, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by brothers, William, Keith and Fred Carolan and sister Vivian Craves.
Memorial services will be 11 am Saturday October 15, 2011 at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas F. Esper will officiate. Military rites will be held under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied veterans Council. Inurnment of cremains will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery Columbarium.
Visiting hours are 10am until service time on Saturday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
