Marie E. Jansen

Marie E. Jansen, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 9, 2011.
Marie was born June 13, 1924 in Port Huron and was a resident of the Blue Water Area her entire life. She spent her winters for the last 20 years in Zephyrhills FL, where she she had many enjoyable memories and friends.
Marie retired from the Port Huron Area School District as a bus driver after many years of service. Marie's proudest attribute was her family. She raised 8 children whom she loved dearly. Her summers were especially enjoyable to her as she loved her vegetable garden and most of all her flowers. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Detroit Red Wings as she never missed a game on T.V.
Marie is survived by her five sons, Edward (Diane) Jansen, Kenneth (Teresa) Jansen, David (Barbara) Jansen, Thomas (Barbara) Jansen and Charles (Aneta) Jansen; three daughters Suzanne (Richard) Shovan, Rose (Hans) Medina and Jeanne (Steve) Campau; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Howard (Gloria) Siemen, Kenneth (Nancy) Siemen and Harold (Janet) Siemen; one sister, Gloria (Robert) Reed; a brother-in-law, William Toles and many friends, especially Alta Shaw who she enjoyed her Friday morning breakfast with.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Schikora will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Gregory Jansen, Scott Campau, Dan Jansen, Tom Campau, Jeff Bassett and Tim Jones.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
