Obituary

Mary “Jean” Devereaux, 76, of Worth Township, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

She was born July 20, 1944 in Port Huron to the late Michael and Anna Guziak. She married Thomas Devereaux on June 28, 1969.

Jean was a 1962 graduate of St. Stephen High School and also attended Port Huron Junior College. She retired from AT & T after 31 years. She was a member of Ave Maria Parish- St. Denis Catholic Church, Lexington where she served as a Eucharistic minister at the church and for the homebound. She held several offices at the church, including past president of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Wednesday morning Golf League at Lakeview Hills Golf Club.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas; brother Thomas (Patsy) Guziak; brother-in-law, Chuck Frendt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald (Grace), Michael H., Gerald and Raymond Guziak; and a sister, Theresa Frendt.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.

Mrs. Devereaux will lie in state at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Ave Maria Parish- St. Denis Catholic Church, Lexington until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Donald Eppenbrock will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
