Mrs. Elizabeth J. Howe

Elizabeth J. (Hyde) Howe, 90, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. She was born on April 24, 1921 in Port Huron.
Betty was a beautician and owned and operated her own beauty shop for 44 years. She was formerly employed at Prestolite Wire and Armak Tape. She was an avid shopper and loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gary M. Howe, Julie A. Murray, Thomas L. Howe, Gregory A. (Patricia) Howe and Barbara E. (Thomas H.) Reckker; grandchildren, Bethann (Bill) Smith, Mary Lynn (Ross) Goodfellow, Brian T. Murray, John E. Murray, Annika E. Howe and Kyle G. Howe; great grandchildren, Kaylin and Kolby Smith, Elizabeth, Ross Murray and Olivia Goodfellow and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Rosemary Francek, Leo Hyde, Agnes Sheffer and Joe Hyde and son-in-law, Dennis J. Murray.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Arthur Baranowski will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Emmett.
Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service time at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Community Giving/Foster Children's Christmas Fund through the St. Clair County Department of Human Services.
