Delores Aguinaga

Delores “Dee” Aguinaga, 73, of Port Huron, died Monday, April 5, 2021. She was born February 12, 1948 to the late Filomeno and Elvira Sanchez. Dee married Louis Aguinaga on February 14, 1968. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1975.

Dee went on to raise four children, Lisa Marie, Louis Joseph, Richard Michael and Nichole Lynn. She was the consummate matriarch and adored her family, especially her grandbabies. Her happiest times were the together times.

Dee also loved sports. Her favorites were the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Dodgers, specifically Chris “Blue Eyes” Taylor! Dee will be remembered for the way she cared for and appreciated others, her sense of humor and her talents in the kitchen.

She is survived by her four children, 14 grandchildren, 10 siblings and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Sanchez.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 and 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, 1720 Elk Street, Port Huron. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 1505 Ballentine Street, Port Huron. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
