Iona C. "Dolly" Zgieb

Iona Charmane “Dolly” Zgieb, 89, of Port Huron, died Sunday, May 16, 2021.

She was born January 2, 1932 in Manhattan, New York to the late Albert and Helen Luebben.

Dolly loved golfing, going to casinos, spending time with her family and traveling to New Orleans and Las Vegas. She was a member of the Elks #343 and Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles. Dolly and her family were involved in operating several area restaurants and bars.

She is survived by her son, William Zgieb; grandchildren, Donald Zgieb III, William P. (Kelsey) Zgieb, Kelli (Brian) Rojek, Joshua Zgieb, Lacie Zgieb and Lindsey (Steve) McKinstry; great grandchildren, Alexis, Hannah, Ava, Anders, Colton, Harrison, Deryn and Teagan; sisters, Shirley Rediker and Veronia Stulgis; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Alan Rambaum and Denise Marth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald J. Zgieb; two sons, George Zgieb II and Donald (Kathy) Zgieb Jr.; grandsons, William Zgieb Jr. and Nicholas Zgieb; and brother, Charles Leubben.

Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, of which Dolly was a very strong supporter.
