Carol Duquette

Carol Mae Duquette, 71, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

She was born August 15, 1949 in Brown City to the late Lee and Norma Ledebuhr. She married Francis J. “Frank” Duquette on September 25, 1971 in Capac.

Carol was a 1967 graduate of Capac High School and went on to graduate from SC4 Nursing School. She worked as a surgical nurse at Yale Hospital and later at Port Huron Hospital, where she was employed for over 20 years as an operating room nurse. Known as the “bread lady”, she enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She loved crafting, playing cards and board games, shopping, traveling and gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank; daughter, Bethany Duquette (Jacob Danik); sons, Adam and Seth (Andrea) Duquette; grandchildren, Julian Matthew Duquette, Gabe Danik, and Lainey, Jonah, Ben and Micah Duquette; brother, Richard (Evelin) Ledebuhr; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Pamela Ledebuhr; and sister, Nancy Simpson.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m.
