Beverley June Holmes, 93, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
She was born October 18, 1927 in Port Huron Township to the late Russell and Elsie Gillies. She married John Holmes Jr. on February 7, 1948 in St. Stephen Catholic Church.
Beverley was employed with Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator for several years. She was a founding member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Beverley enjoyed mystery movies, cooking, and family get togethers, which always came first.
She is survived by her children, Mary Christine (James) Allen Jr., Teresa Ann Holmes, Marsha (Russel) Wixson and William (Deborah) Holmes; grandchildren, Michael (Yolanda) Allen, David (Wiola) Allen, Nathan Holmes, Matthew (Lisa) Holmes, Ian Wixson, Alec (Melanie) Wixson and Devin Holmes; great grandchildren, Ethan Allen-Fernandez, Sandra Allen-Fernandez, Caiden Holmes, Raegan Holmes and Lilianna Wixson; sister, Dorothy Amen; brother, Myron (Carol) Moak; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Holmes Jr. son, Stephen Holmes; brothers, Chester Moak Jr., Don Gillies and Harry Moak; and sisters, Peggy Russel and Sue Anne Moak-Ingalls.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
