Gerald L.“Jerry” Loeding, 83, of Croswell, died Saturday, January 22, 2022.

He was born February 1, 1938 in Croswell to the late Irving and Marion Loeding. He married Linda Bigger on October 30, 1959 in Croswell. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2013 after 53 years of marriage.

Gerald worked in an orchard as a young boy. He was employed as a die setter at RPM for 20 years then worked the latter half of his career at Dean Foods before his retirement. Jerry was a friend to all and loved camping with his family, travel and long rides in his Chevy pickup with his dog Bobo. Jerry was also one of the greatest storytellers that you would ever meet! Famous for delivering a final punch line. He lived a full life and is now at peace.

He is survived by two daughters, Raelynn (John) Bielski and Sheila (Frank) Pelc; son-in-law, Jason Lechnyr; six grandchildren, Ashley (Dawson) Brown, Alicia Pelc, Emily (Adam) Lazar, Amber Lechnyr, Jennifer Lechnyr and Trever Lechnyr; great grandchildren, Justin and Alayna; and dear family friend, Pastor Jeff Volpe. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Lechnyr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Valiant Ministries, 5242 N. Black River Rd., Croswell, MI. Brunch to follow at Valiant Ministries.
