Obituary

Troy Evan-Garrett Smith, BELOVED son, brother, uncle, grandson and nephew, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, after a Courageous fight against brain cancer.

He was born November 5, 1990 to Ted and Deborah Smith.

Troy attended St. Mary Elementary, McCormick Catholic Academy, Port Huron High School and St. Clair County Community College. He was always full of energy with a great sense of humor. He was known as a kind, soft-spoken person. He loved skateboarding, rollerblading, strength training, and competed in Tough Mudders and Savage Races. He played little league, and during his school years he was a team player in basketball, track, flag football, and was a member of the Honor Society. He was a graphic designer and screen printer for the family business- The Imprint House.

He is survived by his parents, Ted Smith and Deborah Smith; brother, Kyle Smith; nieces, Audrey and Delaney; grandparents, Bill and Barbara McAllister; aunts and uncles, Georgia (Dan) Hedt, Michael Smith (Debora Hamlin), Bill McAllister Jr. (Jodi Moss) and Sandra Brabaw (Mark Livingston); cousins, Bill McAllister III and Pamela Brabaw; and best friend, Jon Zweng. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Olga Smith.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Karrer Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Ted Smith, Kyle Smith, Jon Zweng, Patrick Armstrong, Sean Addley and Tim Obertein.

Donations made to the family will be forwarded to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and U of M Brain Cancer Research in memory of Troy.
