Mi Kyong Allen

Mi Kyong Allen, 64, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 4, 2022.

She was born September 19, 1957 in South Korea. It was there that she met Frederick M. Allen while he was serving in the Army. They were married on October 5, 1979. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2011 after 31 years of marriage.

Mi Kyong devoted herself to her children and husband, during his military career and beyond. She was passionate about their education and instilled in them a love of reading and being creative. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and giving gifts to her neighbors. She also loved cooking Korean food to share with friends and family. Those who knew her loved her and she touched many lives.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Allen and Julia Allen (Christopher); stepchildren, Sherry (Steve) Chapdelaine, Jean (Paul) VanSullen and Frederick (Angel) Allen Jr.; siblings, Mi Young Yoon, Euna Yoon and Yongee Yoon; and her husband’s remaining family. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Shim Yoon; and her parents, Sun Jeok Kim and Seong Bong Sin.

Cremation has taken place.

Inurnment will be in the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
