Lynn D "Mr. E" Esterline

Lynn D. "Mr. E" Esterline, 78, of North Street, died Thursday, March 31, 2022.

He was born May 24, 1943 in Farwell, Michigan. He married Wendy on December 19, 1992 at the Victorian Inn, Port Huron.

Lynn graduated from Farwell High School, received his bachelor's degree from Ferris State University and master's degree from the University of Michigan.

He fostered a lifelong passion for teaching others as an Auto Shop teacher at Port Huron Northern High School and RESA. After retiring from teaching, he began a new career as an engineer at General Motors.

In his early years, Lynn enjoyed riding motorcycles in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter. He loved old tractors and putzing around in the barn where his many friends would stop by to see his latest project or ask advice.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Wendy; 5 children, Brenda (Matt) Cox, Michael (Paige) Esterline, Julie (Anthony) Schoenherr, Christopher (Allison) Balogh and Brady Esterline; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Cindy) Esterline; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle "Dell" Esterline and Elaine Elizabeth Esterline.

A Memorial Visitation honoring Lynn’s life will be held from 1-4 & 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery, Gilmore Township at a later date.
