Mary M McLaughlin

Mary M. McLaughlin, 85, of Port Huron, died Monday, April 11, 2022.

She was born July 22, 1936 in Mercedes, TX to the late Mikaela Barron and late Charles Rivera. She married Oscar G. “Jerry” McLaughlin on December 26, 1956 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1994 after 37 years of marriage.

Mary was a graduate of St. Stephen High School. She traveled the United States with her husband, Oscar as a military wife. She was a member of St. Mary Church where she sang in the choir. She volunteered at Charles Schoor VFW Auxiliary # 796 and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Chuck (Janice) McLaughlin, Eugene “Mac” McLaughlin and William McLaughlin; granddaughters, Megan (Logan) Dudley and Nicole (Cory) Moore; great grandchildren, Aiden, Sutton, Isabella and Sophia; siblings, Minnie Coronado, Hilda (David) Pennington, Roy (Mardene) Rivera and other brothers and sisters; and niece, Donna (Lupe) Vicencio as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by adopted brothers, Martin Barron and Stephen Ledsworth.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery.
