Gerald Rankin

Gerald Harry “Jerry” Rankin, 73, of Port Huron, entered eternal life Thursday, May 5, 2022 after a long illness. He was born April 27, 1949 in Port Huron, the son of the late William James and Mary (Carpenter) Rankin.

Jerry graduated from Port Huron Catholic High School and served honorably with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam and was awarded with a purple heart. He married Betty Belesky on October 25, 1980. He retired in 2014 from Mueller Brass after several years of employment and loved working in his yard and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Rankin; brothers, James (Ruth), Robert (Susan) and Thomas (Gyla) Rankin; sister-in-law, Rocio Rankin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Jane and William Cline, Charles and Nancy Belesky, James and Linda Belesky, Richard and Laura Belesky, John and Catherine Belesky and Donna and Robert Amthor; two godsons, James and Connor Rankin; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Rankin; and brother-in-law, Harold Belesky.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
