Virginia Harvey

Virginia Ann “Ducky” Zotter Harvey, 92, of Port Huron, died Sunday, August 28, 2022.

She was born June 14, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Joseph and Stephanie Zotter. She married Theodore J. Harvey on August 26, 1961 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Virginia worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Detroit and the St. Clair County Health Department before leaving to raise her family. She helped set up beds for the opening of Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. Virginia was an avid runner and member of the Blue Water Road Runners and also participated in a Scotty Hanton Marathon. She enjoyed camping and traveling and boating.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Theodore; three sons, Matthew John (Michelle), James Joseph (Andrea) and Thomas Zotter (Tina) Harvey; nine grandchildren, Nicholas (Annie), Madison, Katherine, Meredith, Blake, Alyssa, Samuel, Joseph and Timothy; daughter-in-law, Brenda Harvey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore G. Harvey; and sisters, Pauline Steinborn and Stephanie Hoffman.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
