Robert R Mattson

Robert Roy Mattson, 86, of Clyde Township, died Sunday, September 4, 2022.

He was born July 19, 1936 in Rudyard, Michigan to the late Rudolph and Beatrice Mattson. He married Judith Stallard on May 11, 1968 in Port Huron.

Robert was a counselor at Port Huron Northern High School for 36 years and also worked as a customs agent on the Blue Water Bridge for 20 years. He played hockey for many years and was a Port Huron Northern hockey coach. Robert enjoyed camping, boating and Ham radio. He was a member of the Port Huron Sail and Power Squadron.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judith; six children, Mark (Joy) Mattson, Laura NcNamara, Julie (Joe) Sangster, Jennifer (Rod) Shagena, Eric (Heather) Mattson and Kristi (Paul) Ghekiere; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Dave) Perry; brother, Rich Mattson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Mattson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Nate Neihof will officiate.
