Margaret A Holmes

Margaret Alice Minnie Holmes, 86, of Marysville, died Saturday, November 5, 2022.

She was born November 27, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Cyril and Grazia Minnie.

Margaret retired from the City of Port Huron Income Tax Office. She enjoyed sewing and made costumes for the Port Huron Figure Skating Club. She also enjoyed bowling and traveling with her friend Barb and sister Billie. Margaret loved gardening, orchids and roses. She also loved animals, especially her cat.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Ray) Vanderlinde; two grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Vanderlinde; sister, Billie (Don) Frumveller; brother, Bill (Chance) Johnston II; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church.
