Lola Jean Colby
On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the Lord called home Lola Jean Colby. We are convinced that she’s dancing in the arms of Jesus, and there’s a most joyful celebration in Heaven!
Her time here was marked with unimaginable loss and suffering, and though she is and will continue to be missed, we see this a beautiful mercy for God to call her home.
Alongside Jesus, she’s also being welcomed by her beloved husband of 45 years, Edward Colby; loving and devoted children, Jimmy, Eddie, and sweet Christy; parents, Patrick and Inez Carroll; and siblings, Patrick, William, and Sue. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Fecteau and Lindsey (Ryan) DeGain; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 5 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
In spite of her countless losses, she never complained and never spoke negatively of anyone. She didn’t try to fix any of us or boss us around. Grace upon grace is what she gave us!
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023, in Blue Water Christian Church, 1331 Chestnut St., Port Huron with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Bruce Clark will officiate.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
