Donna J Horak

Donna Jean Horak, 70, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

She was born August 2, 1952 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Harvey and Grace Horak. She married her soulmate, Roger Atkinson on November 30, 1996 in Port Huron.

Donna always had a passion to help others. She worked many years as a caregiver at Mary Barrs Adult Foster Care. She had a huge heart and took pride in helping everyone without judgement. She always played an active role in her daughter’s lives, ranging from being a room mother in their classes, to field trips, to helping them become loving and caring mothers.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Roger; two daughters, Krystal (David) and Melissa (Rob); three sisters, Leslie, Janet and Debbie; four brothers, Durwood, Donny, Willie and John; six grandchildren, Aleisha, Michael, Alexis, Adrian, Brooklyn and Adalyn; and two great granddaughters, Layla and Wrenlyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marsha and Mary; and brother, Harvey Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Brian Thick of Blue Water Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot Township.
