Deborah Lynn Snodgrass

Deborah Lynn Snodgrass, 72, of Port Huron Michigan, passed away on May 4, 2023 after a fight with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family who, for much the day, played her favorite songs and told her funny stories her friends and colleagues had posted on Facebook for her.

Debbie, or Deb as she preferred to be called, was born on March 2, 1951 to Frank and Sally Bohs in St. Clair, Michigan. Debbie graduated from St. Clair High School in 1969, and in 1970 she married her high school sweetheart. They went on to have 2 children, Lance and Shannon.

Deb was a loving and caring stay-at-home mom until she decided to pursue her true calling as a teacher. While raising two children, Deb attended college and graduated with her Associate Degree in Arts in 1988 from St. Clair County Community College. She then went on to complete her Bachelors of Science in Education in 1991 from Wayne State University. She later went to receive her Masters Degree in Education from Wayne State University.

After graduating with a degree in education, she began substitute teaching throughout the St. Clair County School District and shortly thereafter was awarded a permanent position at Marysville Middle School where she taught math and science.

After 20 years of teaching, Deb retired in 2015 and began focusing on her other interests; spending time with her friends and family, reading, gardening and listening to music. Deb put her whole heart into everything she did. Her passionate and caring nature earned the respect and love from everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Sally; daughter, Shannon; son, Lance and his fiancé Angie; grandsons, Landon and Tyler; and her fur babies, Keke and Buttons. Deb was preceded in death by her father, Frank; and sister Julie.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at The Voyageur, 525 South Riverside Ave. St Clair, Michigan 48079.
