Margaret H "Peggy" Stockwell

Margaret H. “Peggy” Stockwell, 87, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

She was born September 23, 1935 in Marquette to the late Rose and Jerry Grant Sr. She married John D. Stockwell on July 16, 1955 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2002 after 47 years of marriage.

Peggy and her husband co-owned and operated Stockwell Studios for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was very devoted to her family.

She is survived by six children, Patti (Jeff) Friedland, Jay (Dawn) Stockwell, Jackie Stockwell (Rob Hadley), Sandy (Dennis) Dazer, Mike (Karen) Stockwell and Vicki (Daymon) Kenyon; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Grant; and three sisters, Rosemary Bradford, Lois Gierman and Patti Grant.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Joseph Gagnon will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
