Edith R Ward-Paris (Hewett)
Edith Renee “Edie” Ward-Paris, 56, of Port Huron, Michigan, made her transition to her new heavenly home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and very close friend.
She was born October 7, 1966 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Sylvia Jo and Eddie Lee Kindle Sr.
Edie graduated from Port Huron High School in June 1984, the same year her “sweet niece”, Melissa was born. Also known as “Beautiful” and “Queen”, she was employed and enjoyed providing private duty home care to the elderly and those with mental and physical handicaps. She was also employed at Nu-Nu’s Nursery and Daycare Inc. for a number of years, as a daycare assistant and night supervisor, and thoroughly enjoyed providing care for the infants and school-aged children. Edith cherished every friendship that she made with the employees and parents. She enjoyed taking trips to Chicago, painting, writing, vegan foods and spending time with her grandchildren.
Edie is survived by her two sons, Joshua (Kelly) Nichols and Caleb Paris (Samantha Burns); three grandsons, Josiah, Kyler, Cairo and two bonus grandchildren, Bentley and Onna; eight siblings, Faye Clark, Lisa Williams, Rosa (James) Thomason, Anthony (Angela) Ward, Michael Kindle, Michelle Kindle, Eddie (Brandie) Kindle Jr. and Benjamin (Ebony) Kindle; her bonus siblings, Stephanie Kindle, Katy Kindle, Ross Kindle, Edward Kindle and Tony (Cassie) Kindle; many special nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, godchildren and her beloved “Tee”, Jan Cates; funny uncle, James Cates Sr.; and her very special caregivers and friends, Dana “My Sunshine” and Tony Levey, Roni Lloyd-Portis, Debra Killion, Theresa Edwards, Selena Lloyd, Liz Thomas, Marilyn Moncrief, Gwen McCoy, Jan Stine, Laurie McPhail, Cherise “TC” Jackson and “my sweethearts”, Lindsay and Clifton “PJ” Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia Jo and Eddie Lee Kindle Sr.; her grandparents; and special sibling, Tracey Kidd.
The Scripture states that Jesus is the friend who sticks closer than a brother - and Roni Lloyd Portis, I’m for sure He was in you as you are in Him! Thank you for embodying the true love of Christ to me!!
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Kingdom Authority Ministries, 1302 Lapeer Ave., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Rosa Thomason and Pastor David Nichols will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
