Deborah K McAllister-Smith

Deborah Kay McAllister-Smith, 66, of Port Huron, died Sunday, November 5, 2023 after a brief illness.

She was born July 19, 1957 in Port Huron.

Deborah was a 1975 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School She worked as a pharmacy technician at Lake Huron Medical Center for 26 years before her retirement. She was intelligent, detail-oriented and the one to turn to if you had a question or needed a smile. Deborah was an extremely loving mother, daughter and grandmother. She was always taking care of others. She enjoyed making people laugh and putting smiles on their faces. Deborah had an affinity for horses and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved making others happy.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Smith (fiancée Nikki Churchill); three grandchildren, Ethan VanNest, Audrey Reid and Delaney Smith; parents, Bill and Barbara McAllister; brother, Bill McAllister Jr.; sister, Sandra (Mark) Livingston; former spouse and friend, Ted Smith and his family, including Georgia (Dan) Hedt and Mike Smith (Deborah Hamlin); lifelong friends, Jodi Moss and Su-Ellen Shoudy; niece, Pam Brabaw; and many close cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Smith; and nephew, Bill McAllister III.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
