Marjolaine "Marge" McGill
Marjolaine Marie-Therese “Marge” McGill departed this Earth on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the age of 69. Surrounded by family members, she was called home after fighting the good fight against the unspeakable disease of Alzheimer’s. She leaves behind a legacy of love for family, kindness, compassion and a desire to help others.
Marge was born on April 4, 1954 in Stoney Pointe, Ontario, Canada, the youngest child of the late Gaston and Therese Vigneux.
She married her first husband, Garry Dupuis and shortly after gave birth to a son, Jayson and a daughter, Nicole. Marge began work in the veterinary field before returning to school to pursue a career in nursing. Her love, kindness and compassion for others made this a perfect fit.
Marge found love again in her soulmate and best friend, Terry McGill. Married in the small town of Marietta, Ohio by the local mayor, they began their life together in 1997. Marge pursued her new-found career first as a caregiver in a nursing home before obtaining a position with a local cardiologist who found her to be such a wonderful asset that when he received an offer to join a practice, he agreed, but only if he could bring Marge as his nurse. In 2009, Marge retired alongside her husband, Terry who had served 30 years as an Ohio State Trooper.
They were blessed with two grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Dupuis, born to her son, Jayson and his wife, Tanya.
Marge was a true competitor and was always up for a good card or board game. She enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting parties. Her personality always shone through, which blessed her with many friends. She embodied the essence of life- family, friends and the need to help others.
Through the stages of Alzheimer’s prior to her passing, Marge’s sister, Georgette “Jo” and respite care worker, Malinda Lieske, made themselves available at any point and time to assist in the constant care required. Without their assistance, she would have not been able to remain at home. Terry’s heartfelt thanks is extended to them.
Marge was attended to at Blue Water Hospice Home in the days leading up to her passing. Their kindness, compassion and true love for the work they do made the move easier. She spent her final days in peace and comfort. The family’s love is extended to their staff.
