Dr. Arthur B Yull, MD
Arthur Baker Yull, MD, a dedicated husband, esteemed physician, and adventurous soul, passed away on April 16, 2024, at 94 years old. Born on September 23, 1929, to Paul C. and Katherine B. Yull, Arthur's life was one marked by education, service, and exploration. On March 13, 1997, he married his loving partner Sharon (Emery) Yull.
Arthur's professional journey was defined by his commitment to medicine. Graduating from Harvard Medical School in 1955, he pursued a career in surgery, completing his residencies at the University Hospitals of Cleveland and University of Michigan in 1963. For nearly four decades, he served on the surgical staff at Port Huron Hospital until his retirement in 2000, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and patients. His dedication was recognized with board certification in 1964, a testament to his expertise and dedication to healing.
Beyond the operating room, Arthur embraced life's adventures with boundless enthusiasm. From beekeeping to scuba diving, snorkeling to skiing, he found joy in the experiencing nature. Together with Sharon, he explored the world's wonders, from the sun-soaked shores of the Cayman Islands to the rugged landscapes of Africa, and the vibrant streets of China, among many other destinations.
Arthur's spirit of adventure extended to his service with the US Air Force as a flight surgeon, where he combined his passion for medicine with a love of flight.
Arthur leaves behind a great legacy, cherished by his wife Sharon; children, Kim (Tim) Moffit, Kim (Dan) Peterson, Kevin (Theresa) Meharg, and Krystal (Jimmy) Dunn; and grandchildren Drew Moffit, Katie Moffit, JD (Hayley) Dunn, Mitchell (Mikaela) Meharg, Marshal Meharg(Hunter Guilds), Zachary Dunn, and Lily Peterson. He is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Though Arthur may have left this world, his spirit of curiosity, kindness, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
