John L Zielke

John Lee Zielke, 68, of Fort Gratiot, went to be with his Savior, on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

He was born March 26, 1956 in Port Huron to the late Carlton and Barbara Zielke. He married Lori R. Echlin on April 18, 1998 in First United Methodist Church.

John’s life was filled with service as he shared of himself with so many. You could easily find John at his favorite restaurant booth with a friend, on his fishing boat, volunteering at his church or at any local sporting event - always surrounded by others.

He is well-loved by his wife, Lori; children, Brad (Chantel) Zielke, Katie (Nate) Thompson and Brandon Zielke; grandchildren, Hudson, Brekken, Clara, Luther, Lanie and Bear; and sister, Edith Brisson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison Gutierrez; siblings, Carlton B. Zielke, Fred Zielke, Chuck Zielke, Jim Zielke and Barb Biesterfeldt.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Nate Neihof will officiate.
