Donald Gerber

Donald Harold Gerber, 79, of Jeddo, died Thursday, July 18, 2024.

He was born August 1, 1944 in Sandusky to the late Harold R. and Lila M. Gerber. He married Lois A. Wells on December 7, 2001 in Port Huron. She died May 11, 2017.

Donald was a 1963 graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School. He was employed with Buick Motors for over 30 years. He loved genealogy, history and restoring tractors. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Margaret (Michael) Pifer; two stepchildren, Tammy (Brian) Mellert and Donald (Rebecca) McFarland; six grandchildren, Lacey Hood, Rachel (Josh) Connelly, Michael Pifer, Andrew Gerber (Nicole), Lindsay Hart and Kelly Gerber; eight great grandchildren, Quinn Hood, Jameson Hood, Fallon Connelly, Colton, Bentlee, Ambree, Sydnee and baby Connelly on the way; six siblings, Dorothy Sanford, William Gerber, Judith Gerber, Joan Shoebottom, Edna Turner and James (Linda) Gerber; daughter-in-law, Barb Gerber; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Gerber; twin brothers; and siblings, Norma Swartz, Lona McCorkle and Daniel Gerber.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Joe Fetterly will officiate.

Burial will be in Burtchville Township Cemetery.
