Henry J "Hank" Janderwski

Henry Jake “Hank” Janderwski, 88, of Port Huron, died Saturday, August 24, 2024.

He was born April 17, 1936 in Dwight Township, Michigan to the late Raymond and Regina Janderwski. He married Marjorie A. Pedrotti on February 2, 1958 in Bad Axe.

Hank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service, he worked as the service manager for Northgate Ford for many years prior to his retirement. Hank loved to tinker with and fix things, play shuffleboard and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoyed wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida. Hank was a member of the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8 and the Knights of Columbus Council #521.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie; children, Rick (Lynne) Janderwski and Anne Witherspoon-Savage (Steve Savage); daughter-in-law, Debbie Janderwski; grandchildren, Melissa Janderwski, Kristofor (Chelsea) Janderwski, Amber Janderwski and Effie Savage; great grandchild, Gustav Janderwski; and siblings, Marilyn Soper, Ed Janderwski and Carolyn Hacker. He was preceded in death by his son, David Janderwski; granddaughter, Ashley Janderwski; and eight siblings.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
