Howard T Bailey

Howard Truman Bailey, 79, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024. He was born June 26, 1945 in Cullman, AL to the late Rufus and Stacy Bailey. He married Rebecca K. Warner on December 5, 1970 in Port Huron.

Howard served in the U.S. Army. Known as “The Sunrize Guy” on Facebook, he enjoyed taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets to share with his followers. He also enjoyed collecting beach rocks and devoted his time to caring for his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rebecca; three sons, Anthony (Rachel) Bailey, Richard (Stephanie) Bailey and Eric (Kristy) Bailey; five grandchildren, Bryce, Makenna, Easton, Markus and Lincoln; two sisters, Brenda (Tommy) Aldridge and Joan Phillips; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Royce Bailey, Ray Bailey and Charlotte Bailey Scott.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Military honors conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will follow at 4:00 p.m.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery, Port Huron.
