Teresa A Bennett

March 5th, 1929 to November 9th, 2024

Teresa Ann Bennett, 95, of Port Huron, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 after a long and beautiful life.

She was born March 5, 1929 in Port Huron to Marie and Raymond Delaney.

Teresa married her soulmate, John Bonin on May 5, 1951. Together they had five children. Johnny died on January 20, 1980. She found love again and married Joseph Bennett in 1987. He died in January of 2001.

What Teresa enjoyed most was spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals, especially cats, and she was always ready for a game of euchre.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Sterling; three children, Patricia Forbes, Richard (Brenda) Bonin and Susan Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Tonya Bonin; 12 grandchildren, David (Kari) Bonin, Stacey Forbes, Lisa Forbes, Sarah (Chad) Struthers, Holly (Robert) Hallay, Robin (Benjamin) Sargent, Jack Bonin, Emma Bonin, Jessica (Travis) Hunt, Nick Bonin, William (Alyssa) Gilbert, and Rachel (Andy) Robertson; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws. She is also survived by her very special friend and care-giver, Debbie (Denny) Ward. She was preceded in death by sons, David and Gary Bonin; her grandson, Matthew Gilbert; two brothers, William and Paul Delaney; two sisters, Catherine Weber and Patricia Coats; and son-in-law, John Forbes.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Gilbert, Andy Robertson, Robert Hallay, Nick Bonin, David Bonin and Jack Bonin.
