Henry E. Schlautmann, 75, of Port Huron died April 20, 2012.
He was born January 25, 1937 in Detroit. He married Lillian V. Fuller on May 8, 1965 in Virginia.
Henry had a long and distinguished military career serving with the Air Police in AK, as a deep sea diver in VA, a Vietnam Veteran and as an Army recruiter. He retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service. He also worked as a security officer at Mercy Hospital for 27 years. He was a member of the V.F.W., Elks, Knights of Columbus of Bronson and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and oil painting.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian of Port Huron; daughter, Kristine L. Schlautmann of Marysville; son, Stephen R. (Donna) Schlautmann of Grand Rapids; granddaughter, Myriam Schlautmann of Grand Rapids; brother, Fred (Janet) Schlautmann of Bronson, MI; sisters, Anne (Jerry) Houghton of Bronson, MI and Judith Garijo of Smiths Creek; step-brothers, Bill (Jan) Rausch of Clarkston, and James (Lorinda) Rausch of New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Joan Schlautmann, step-mother, Marie Rausch Schlautmann and brother-in-law, Pete Garijo.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council at 7:30 pm Wednesday.
A memorial mass will be held in Bronson, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials for Henry may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
