Mary Jane "Sadie" Albert
Mary Jane “Sadie” Albert, age 87, of Marysville, Michigan, formerly of Burtchville Township, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
She was born on May 30, 1938, in Port Huron, to the late Lewis and Margaret (Vercnocke) McDonald. She married her love and best friend, Fred Albert Jr. on April 21, 1956. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2024 after 68 years of marriage.
Mary Jane was devoted to her family and friends and loved spending time with them whenever possible. She enjoyed entertaining and was the consummate hostess who made everyone feel special and welcomed. She lit up the room with her beautiful smile and her great sense of humor. Mary Jane was a remarkable woman of many talents. Her extensive knowledge and love of collecting antiques, and meticulous care in restoring furniture came naturally, as her mother and great aunt were the very best of mentors. She had a beautiful eye for interior decorating and superbly curated her many collections of antiques, china and art, throughout the family’s home. Her signature style was evident in everything she touched and created.
Mary Jane and her husband Fred enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and Canada and spending their winter months in Florida.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and friend, a proud mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, special aunt and cousin.
She is survived by her beloved children, Buck (Nelda) Albert and Margaret (Kevin) Summers; grandchildren, Cole Albert and Adam Pacheco, Brandon (Kari) Summers and Anika (Taylor) O’Connell; great grandchildren, Weston and Colson Pacheco, and Piper and Lachlan O’Connell; sister, Nancy Newman; nephews, Robert McDonald and Anthony McDonald; great niece, Krystal Pierotte; sister-in-law, Ellinor Schaffert; and many cousins and extended family members.
