William R Galliker

William R. Galliker, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2012, at Blue Water Hospice Home following a brief illness.
He was born September 26, 1928 in Whittemore, Michigan.
William served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 58. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and making maple syrup, which he passed out to his family and friends. He also had a private pilot license. He had a lifelong love of basset hounds.
He is survived by his children, Deborah (Ralph) Bochenek, William (Kathy) Galliker, Kevin (Sharon) Galliker and Jenny (Steve) Goolsby; grandchildren, Michelle, Kyle, Eric (Jessica) William, Kelly, Trevor and Tyler; a great grandson, Jack; sisters, Helen, Carolyn and Kathleen; a brother, Herb and his faithful Basset Hound, “Abbey”.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy and his sisters, Muriel and Hazel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in North Street Baptist Church. Pastor Matt Harvey will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeport Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home
