Mary R Ganim

Mary Rose Ganim, 83, of Port Huron Township, died Sunday, September 21, 2025.

She was born June 9, 1942 in Zahle, Lebanon to the late Michael and Najla Abou-Taan. She married Charles C. Ganim on April 23, 1969 in Zahle, Lebanon. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2021.

Mary worked as press operator for many years prior to her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed watching the EWTN Catholic Television Network and Mother Angelica Live. Mary was an exceptional cook, known for her Kibbeh and middle eastern food. She had a passion for shopping, traveling to different places around the United States and listening to Lebanese music by Fairuz. Family was extremely important to Mary and she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. Most of all, she was proud to be a naturalized U.S. citizen. She was a member of the Gamma Nu Sorority of Woman’s Life, Cedar Club of Port Huron and St. Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Helen (Dennis) Dickey and Sol Ganim; grandchildren, Daniel (Christina) Ganim and Mary Dickey; great granddaughter, Aurora Ganim; sisters, Lily Daoud, Marguerite Said and Feriale Hage; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John, George, Elie, Mona, Josephine and Isabelle.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
