Sherry L Hunt

Sherry Lenore Hunt, 75, of Ft. Gratiot died on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 17, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Keith and Ernestine Gersten. She married David Hunt on May 24, 1969 in Port Huron.

She was a 1968 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School. Always a hard worker, Sherry worked as a bank teller for 10 years, as well as at Port Huron Hospital for five years, and as a secretary for Northern Electric.

She loved her family most of all, she would spend time caring for her home and keeping tabs on her loved ones. She was known as a mother to many.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 57 years, David Hunt; her children, David (Jennifer) Hunt, James Hunt, and Jennifer (Frank) Ruttman; grandchildren, James Hunt, Alexis (William) Driscoll, Alacia Hunt, Gracie Ruttman, and Tommy Ruttman; and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Gersten; and sister, Lori Gersten.

Cremation has taken place, a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
