Gary M Goulette
Gary Michael Goulette, 60, of Port Huron, died Thursday, August 6, 2026.
He was born May 23, 1966 in Port Huron to the late Harry and Grace Goulette. He married Susan Simmons on October 10, 2023.
Gary spent many years as a truck driver. He also owned City Cab and the Atomic ice cream cart, but his proudest job was serving as bridge tender on the 7th Street Bridge.
Gary loved riding his Vespa, “Black Bird” and his bicycle. He was an amateur photographer who would take pictures of anything he thought was interesting. He listened to all genres of music switching between them to enjoy a little bit of everything. Gary could often be found in front of a grill cooking up delicious meals for others earning the name “Chef BoyarGee” from his wife. He also loved spending time with his cats, Checkers, Safari, Charlie, Sam & Seymour who he loved like children.
He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, had a larger-than-life personality and loved to make people laugh. Gary’s joy was truly contagious because he saw the best in everyone. He would learn about what people enjoyed and do anything he could to bring them a smile, especially his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; siblings, Francis “Mike” (Cindy) Goulette; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat McIntyre, Patricia (Peter) Maxwell, Stephen (Allen) Shively, and Bill (Teri) Shively; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Brenda Wacker and Gail McIntyre.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Shaun Laurain will officiate.
