Mary E Cogley

Mary E. Cogley, 97, of Port Huron, died June 27, 2012 after a short illness.

She was born May 29, 1915 in Port Huron to the late Michael A. and Cecelia Graziadei. She married Francis C. Cogley. He died May 22, 1970.

Mary was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School. She spent the majority of her life as homemaker. She was active with St. Stephen's Church and volunteered as a “Gray Lady” for 25 years at Mercy Hospital. She loved to cook and entertain. Mary was a very generous and giving person.

She is survived by her son, Michael P. Cogley of Port Huron; daughter, Mary Frances Cogley (Randy Hillger) of Port Huron; grandsons, Michael F. Cogley of Madison, WI and Paul A. (Laura) Cogley of Gurnee, IL; sister, Jane Wilson of Port Huron; great grandchildren, Katie and Tommy Cogley; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Priscilla Jones.

Cremation has taken place with arrangements by Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held 11am Thursday, August 16, 2012 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. The Rev. David T. Simpson O’Carm. will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Seasons Hospice or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.

Mary’s family would like to express their gratitude to her special friend and helper, Carol McCarty and to Christina Noble at Noble Assisted Living for the excellent care that was given to Mary.
