Brian S Armstrong

Brian S. Armstrong, 55, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Beaumont Hospital of complications following a stroke. He was born June 25, 1957 in Port Huron.
Brian was a sheet metal worker with Local 80. He volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul and helped build the Food Depot. He served as a Music Minister at St. Mary Church for the past year and sang with St Mary Choir, Circle of Friends at St. Joseph Church and the St. Joseph Celebration Singers. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 521, of which he was a 3rd Degree Knight.
He is survived by his sisters, Theresa (Samson) Coleman and Norma Armstrong; brothers, Kevin (Jane) Armstrong and Leon (Linda) Armstrong and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Marlene and James Armstrong and his brother, Gregory Armstrong.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev Brian K. Cokonougher and the Rev. Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at church. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
Those making memorial donations in Brian's honor might consider one of the various organizations that Brian was active with, or the American Diabetes Association or Gift of Life. Brian was an organ donor and his gift has extended the lives of three different individuals.
