Jane C Wilson

Port Huron-Jane Graziadei Wilson, 92 passed away peacefully on November 19, 2012 in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

She was born January 7, 1920, daughter of the late Michael and Cecilia Graziadei.

Jane married William L. Wilson on March 18, 1944 and they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in May 1994. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1994.

She was a 1937 graduate of St. Stephens High School and the Port Huron Business College. Jane was employed as a secretary for Judge Edward Kane. During World War II, she worked as a secretary at Camp Blanding Florida, a prisoner-of-war camp for German officers.

Jane was a cheerleader advisor at St. Stephens High School for many years. She volunteered as a “Gray Lady” at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and was a member of the League of Catholic Women. She was also past President of the Port Huron Golf Club Ladies Association and played Bridge with high school friends for 70 years.

She is survived by her sons, Bill of Los Angeles, CA; Patrick (Maggie) of St. Johns, MI; Stephen of Holly, MI; daughter Jane of Port Huron; and grandchildren Kristal, Tony, Michael, Diego, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kristopher, Melissa, Riley and Reagan; plus eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cogley and Priscilla Jones.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 am Saturday, November 24, 2012 in the Holy Trinity Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.

Visiting will be from 2-8 pm Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm Friday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her three sons, Bill Wilson, Patrick Wilson and Stephen Wilson along with Dennis Kautzman, Roel Mendoza, Dan Sheppard and Tony Noyola. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Fitzgerald, Brian Moeller, Michael Wilson, Diego Wilson and Kristopher Wilson.

Memorials for Jane may be made to the St. Joseph Mercy Auxiliary Volunteer Organization or the Mid-City Nutrition Center.

Jane’s family would like to extend special Thanks to her friends Megan Landon, Molly Distelrath, Mary Gosger and “Doctor” Jane O’Sullivan.
