Robert C Rutkofske
April 16th, 1927 to January 8th, 2013
Robert C. Rutkofske, age 85, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 8, 2013. Robert was born April 16, 1927 to Theodore and Rose Rutkofske in Port Huron. He married Lois J. Doty May 20, 1950.
Robert served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, was a member of American Legion Post 8, Moose Lodge #158 and the Port Huron Elks Lodge #343. Robert enjoyed many years of boating in the Blue Water area and was an avid hockey fan. He also dedicated many years of coaching for Port Huron Little League were he inspired many youth to enjoy the sport of baseball.
He is survived by sons, Donald (Gwen) of North Street, and Randall (Valerie) of Grosse Pointe Woods, granddaughter Ellisse (Will) Thompson of St. Clair Shores, grandsons Nathan Rutkofske of Port Huron, Evan and Ethan Rutkofske of Grosse Pointe Woods, brother Dick (Anne) Rutkofske of Fort Gratiot and sister Joann (Robert) Bricker of Yale, nieces, nephews and dear friend Rosemary Foltz and other special friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lois, his parents Theodore and Rose Rutkofske, brothers Lloyd and Ralph Rutkofske and sisters Ella Graffam and Patricia Hutchings.
Visitation will be held in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Port Huron Little League or organization of the donor’s choice.
