Irene E. Schuck, 94, of Port Huron, died January 15, 2013 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab.
She was born March 10, 1918 in Lennox Twp., MI.
Irene married Harold A. Schuck on July 29, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1993.
She graduated from New Haven High School in 1935. She was active with the Girl Scouts, an athlete in high school, an accomplished seamstress and a good cook. Irene enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. She was a member of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women. She was a wonderful mother.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Lois K. (James) Arnold of Raleigh, NC; son, John O. (Kathleen) Schuck of Port Huron; daughter, Kristine V. (Daniel) Root of Wake Forest, NC; daughter-in-law, Rebecca N. Schuck of Port Huron; grandchildren, Brian Arnold, Barry Arnold, Claire Henry, Rachel (Zeke) John, Aaron Schuck, Meredith (Tom) Middlin and Amanda (Matthew) Salmon; five great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl L. Schmidt of Dearborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Leigh F. Schuck; brothers, John Foss and Stanley Foss; sister, Viola Kitley; and granddaughter, Colleen Marie Arnold.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Chapman of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, New Haven.
Visiting hours will be 2-8pm Friday in the funeral home.
Memorials for Irene may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
