William Johnston

Port Huron Township- William R. Johnston, 71 of Port Huron Township, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in his home following a brief illness. He was born on August 23, 1934 in Port Huron and had lived here most of his life. He married Becky M. Middleton on January 16, 1988. Bill was a retired truck driver where he touched many lives. He enjoyed golf, working in his yard and making kareoke tapes for family and friends. He loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife Becky; daughters Judi Kay (Rob) Worden of Croswell; Julie Ann Johnston of Port Huron and Annette ( Robert) Czanstke of Marysville; son, Mark (Connie) Johnston of Lexington; daughters, Jodi Black of St. Clair and Tonya (Jeff) Rogocki of Marysville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and faithful companion Buddy; sister June S.P. Fitch of Ft. Gratiot and Emily A. (William) Klein of Jeddo; brother, Norbert W.G. (Brett) Johnson of Marlette; several nieces, nephews, step-brothers and step-sisters; special mother-in-law Marilyn Middleton of Port Huron; Brothers-in-law, Charles (Sherry) Middleton of Port Huron; Robert (Dawn) Middleton of Rochester, Brian Middleton of Port Huron and Timothy Middleton and fiancee Heather Carleton of Port Huron. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Emily Johnson-VanNorman and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Robert P. Trask, Rector will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-9 p.m. today and 9-12:30 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Charles, Robert, Brian and Timothy Middleton, Steve Baker and Bill "Butch" Klein. Memorials are requested to the D.A.V., Salvation Army or the St. Clair County Humane Society.
