Fred Siefert
August 29th, 1935 to February 4th, 2006
Fred Virgil Siefert, age 70, of Marysville, went to be with his wife Saturday, February 4, 2006 in his home following a short illness. He was born August 29, 1935 in Fort Gratiot and has been a life long area resident. He married Martha J. Nelson on March 13, 1958 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. She died September 13, 1998. Fred worked construction out of Carpenters Local 687. He was an excellent mechanic and was a member of the Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club. He loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by daughters, Carolyn M. (David) Buse of Marysville; Susan A. Siefert of Port Huron; Ruth C. (Steven) Rose of Marysville and Mary M. Siefert-Elrod of Port Huron. Grandchildren, Desiree M. Buse and fiance J.D. Short, Michael Siefert, Jennifer and Matthew Rose and David Manfrin. Great Grandson David James Buse Short. Sisters, Carol (Virgil) Allen of Hillman; Audrey (James) Daleski of Alpena and several very close and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Bradley and Margaret Siefert. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Arthur R. Baranowski, Pastor of St. Christopher Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. A scripture service and time of sharing will be at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Fred's family has requested donations be given to his family.
