Gerald Lohr
June 19th, 1934 to June 7th, 2006
Gerald Lloyd Lohr, 71, a life long resident of Port Huron, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 7, 2006. He was born June 19, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Russell and Pearl Lohr. He married Norma Jean Gunn February 18, 1956. Gerald was 1952 graduate of Port Huron High School and received an honorable discharge from the Army. He was employed at American Tape for 30 years as an international sales representative which allowed him to travel most of the free world. He continued his career in the pressure-sensitive tape industry at Intasco Corp. until he retired in 2001. Gerald loved the Lord and was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed golfing, his flower gardens and especially spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Gerald is survived by his wife Norma, his three sons, Brian (Jayne) Lohr of Applegate, Eric (Carrie) Lohr of St. Clair and Scott (Valerie) Lohr of Port Huron Township; six grandchildren: Breanna, Kayla, Brenna, Matthew, Sarah and Eli; his brother Louis (Bernadene) Lohr of Ft. Gratiot, sister-in-law Diane Collier of Ft. Gratiot and five nieces and one nephew. His funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Stephen C. Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillside Wesleyan Family Center on North River Road in Clyde Township.
