Rita Bartlett

Rita A. Bartlett, 77, of Fort Gratiot, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 16, 2006 in St. John Hospital, Detroit. She was born on November 29, 1928 in Detroit and had lived here since 1965. Rita married James F. Bartlett on August 7, 1948 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1996. She was a member of St. Edward On-The-Lake Catholic Church and the local Red Hat Society. Rita is survived by her sons Stephen D. (Anne) Bartlett of Buffalo Grove, IL; Mark J. (Karen) Bartlett of Marathon, FL; Linn C. Bartlett of Port Huron; Jeffrey Q. (Patricia) Bartlett of Kalamazoo; Brad A. Bartlett of Waycross, GA; John E. Bartlett of Detroit and daughter Polly S. (Winston) Sanspree of Orange Beach, AL. Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and brother Lawrence (Joan) Bauby of Howell, MI. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Edward On-The-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas F. Esper will officiate. Burial will follow in Burtchville Township Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. this evening. Rita's grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
