Nancy Trexler

Nancy Trexler, 59, of Ruby, died September 14, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 3, 1947 in Bells Hill Scotland to Margaret and Robert E. Clute. She married Joseph Trexler in 1965. Nancy worked at the County Medical Center from 1982-1988 and at Honeycomb Natural Foods from 1994-2004. Her favorite pastimes were reading and watching television and movies. She and her husband were heavily involved with Youth For Understanding and hosted twelve different exchange students from Europe and Asia from 1982-2005. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Trexler of Ruby; three sons, Shannon Trexler of Burtchville, Eric (Darlene) Trexler of Port Huron and Lyle (Yolanda) Trexler of Avoca; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Curtis, Danielle, Lecia, Kyrsti, Lyle II and Brianna; her mother, Margaret Brown of New Zealand; three sisters, Alison Hedges of New Zealand, Jackie Brown of Australia and JoAnn Spencer of Clio. Nancy is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Clute; step-mother, Marguerite Clute and her brother Robert G. Clute Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel T. Stewart, pastor of Griswold St. Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Dortman, David Wight, Chris Clute, Stephan Conlee, Alex McKenzie and Jeff Riehl. Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
