Mary Zmolik
March 29th, 1918 to October 25th, 2006
Mary Ann Zmolik, 88, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 following a short illness. She was born March 29, 1918 in New York and had lived here since 1919. Mary was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society. She worked at Sam Smith's Beauty Shop and later opened her own beauty shop, known as Mary and Helen's in Marysville. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards and going to polka dances. Mary will be remembered by the many lives she touched. Mary will be sadly missed by her sisters and brother, Bess Harla of Harper Woods, Agnes (Buck) Wiegand of Lincoln Park, James (Lois) Zmolik and Martha Arnold both of Port Huron. Sister-In-Law Dorothy Zmolik of Port Huron; dear friends, Wes and Rita Pifer, Pat Amon and many other friends and care givers. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Anna Zmolik and her brother Frank Zmolik Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation is 2-4 & 7-9p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. Her nephews will serve as her pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Mary may be given to St Stephen Catholic Church, Hartland Hospice or Sanborn Gratiot Memorial Home.
